Shenzhen Wavlink Technology Co Ltd is a Chinese networking equipment manufacturer that produces a range of budget routers, WiFi range extenders, and outdoor access points. The company also sells products under the Aigital brand name on certain marketplaces. Wavlink has built a customer base through Amazon and AliExpress, offering affordable networking hardware with a broader feature set than many competitors at similar price points.

How to Login to Your Wavlink Router

Wavlink routers use 192.168.1.1 on certain older models, but the standard default across the current product line is 192.168.10.1. You can also type wifi.wavlink.com in the browser address bar as a branded login URL. Both addresses reach the same admin panel when you are connected to the Wavlink network.

The login page prompts for a username and password. Enter admin for both fields. These are the factory default credentials on all Wavlink routers and access points, including the WN530HG4 and WN572HG3.

All models share the default IP address of 192.168.10.1 and admin/admin credentials. The WN prefix is used across the entire Wavlink networking product line. Models ending in HG indicate high-gain antennas, while the X suffix denotes WiFi 6 support.

Setting Up a Wavlink Router

Connect an Ethernet cable from your modem to the WAN port on the Wavlink router. The WAN port is typically labeled and color-coded on the back panel. Plug in the power adapter and wait about 60 seconds for the indicator LEDs to stabilize.

Connect to the default WiFi network. Wavlink routers broadcast an SSID starting with Wavlink followed by model identifiers. The default WiFi password is printed on the label on the bottom of the device.

Open a browser and go to 192.168.10.1 or wifi.wavlink.com. The setup wizard launches on first access. Select your internet connection type. DHCP is correct for most cable and fiber connections. PPPoE requires the username and password from your ISP.

Set a new WiFi name and password. On dual-band models like the WN530HG4, the wizard configures both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. Save the settings and reconnect using the new credentials.

For outdoor models like the WN572HG3, the setup process is similar but performed over a wired connection. Configure the unit indoors before mounting it outside.

Setting Up a Wavlink WiFi Extender

Wavlink extender models like the WN579X3 can be set up through the web admin panel or using WPS (WiFi Protected Setup). For detailed extender placement and configuration, see the WiFi extender setup guide.

Web setup method. Plug in the extender near your main router. Connect to the default extender WiFi network. Open a browser and go to 192.168.10.1 or wifi.wavlink.com. The setup wizard scans for nearby WiFi networks. Select your home network, enter the password, and save. The extender creates a new SSID (usually your network name with _EXT appended).

WPS method. Press the WPS button on your main router, then press the WPS button on the Wavlink extender within 2 minutes. The devices negotiate automatically. The extender adopts the same SSID and password as the main network.

After setup, move the extender to its intended location, roughly halfway between the router and the area with weak signal.

Outdoor Access Points and USB Sharing

The WN572HG3 outdoor access point carries an IP65 weatherproof rating, protecting against water jets and dust. The unit includes a PoE (Power over Ethernet) adapter, allowing power and data to run through a single Ethernet cable. Mount the unit on an exterior wall or pole using the included bracket.

The WN572HG3 supports multiple operating modes: access point, repeater, router, and WISP (Wireless Internet Service Provider). Access point mode is the most common configuration, where the outdoor unit extends your indoor network to an exterior area.

USB storage sharing is available on select Wavlink models with a USB port. Connect a USB flash drive or external hard drive. In the admin panel, go to USB Storage or Network Sharing and enable the feature. Devices on the LAN can access shared files through SMB protocol.

Troubleshooting Wavlink Router Issues

1. Cannot reach 192.168.10.1 or wifi.wavlink.com. Verify you are connected to the Wavlink network and not a different router or mobile data. If wifi.wavlink.com does not resolve, use the IP address directly. The branded URL relies on local DNS and may not work if your device uses custom DNS servers.

2. Default password admin does not work. The password was changed during a prior setup. If you cannot recall it, perform a factory reset by holding the reset button for 10 seconds. This restores admin/admin and erases all custom settings including WiFi passwords and extender pairings.

3. Outdoor access point loses connection after rain. Although the WN572HG3 is IP65 rated, verify that all Ethernet cable connections use weatherproof connectors. Water entering the RJ45 jack is the most common cause of intermittent outdoor connectivity failures.

4. WiFi extender creates a separate network name. By default, Wavlink extenders append _EXT to the original SSID. To use the same name as your main router, log into the extender admin panel at 192.168.10.1 and change the extended SSID to match exactly.

5. USB shared drive not visible on the network. Ensure the USB device is formatted as FAT32 or NTFS. Some Wavlink models do not support exFAT. Check that file sharing is enabled in the admin panel. On Windows, open File Explorer and type \192.168.10.1 in the address bar to browse the shared drive.
