How to Login to Your TRENDnet Router
TRENDnet routers use 192.168.10.1 as the default IP address, which is very unusual compared to the 192.168.1.1 used by most other brands. Open a browser on any device connected to the TRENDnet network and type this address in the address bar. The admin login page loads with username and password fields.
Enter admin for both the username and password. These are the factory defaults for all TEW series routers. On first login, some newer models display a prompt recommending you change the admin password for security.
The admin dashboard shows internet connection status, wireless network information, and basic device statistics. The TRENDnet interface uses a straightforward menu layout with categories for wireless, network, access control, and management functions.
TRENDnet Default Credentials by Model
TRENDnet maintains consistent defaults across its router lineup, with all models sharing the same gateway and credentials.

| TEW-826DAP | 192.168.10.100 | admin | admin | AC2200 access point |
Standalone access points default to 192.168.10.100 to avoid conflicting with the router at 192.168.10.1. See the router login guide for general access steps.
Setting Up a TRENDnet Router
Connect the WAN port on the TRENDnet router to your modem using an Ethernet cable. This port is typically a different color from the LAN ports. Plug in the power adapter and wait for the power LED to become steady.
Step 1: Connect a computer to a LAN port on the router with an Ethernet cable. You can also connect wirelessly using the default SSID and password printed on the label at the bottom of the device.
Step 2: Open a browser and go to 192.168.10.1. Enter admin/admin to log in.
Step 3: The setup wizard detects your internet connection type. Select DHCP for cable or fiber, PPPoE for DSL, or static IP if your ISP provides fixed addressing. Enter ISP credentials if required.
Step 4: Configure the wireless settings for each band. Set a custom SSID and password. Select WPA2-PSK as the security mode. The TEW-829DRU supports three bands (one 2.4 GHz and two 5 GHz) with independent SSIDs.
Step 5: Save and apply the configuration. The router reboots to finalize the settings. Reconnect to the new Wi-Fi network after the reboot completes.
Changing Your TRENDnet Wi-Fi Password
Log into the admin panel at 192.168.10.1. Go to Wireless > Security in the sidebar menu.
Select the band you want to update (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz). Change the Pre-Shared Key or Passphrase field to your new password. Ensure the security mode is set to WPA2-PSK with AES encryption. Click Apply to save.
All wireless clients disconnect when the new settings take effect. Reconnect each device with the updated password. For a detailed walkthrough, see the change Wi-Fi password guide.
TRENDnet PoE and IP Camera Integration
TRENDnet distinguishes itself from router-only brands by offering a broader portfolio of network infrastructure products.
PoE switches. The TPE series of PoE switches powers compatible devices through Ethernet cables using 802.3af and 802.3at standards. Models range from 5-port desktop units to 28-port rackmount switches. This eliminates separate power adapters for IP cameras and access points.
IP camera ecosystem. TRENDnet TV-IP series network cameras integrate with TRENDnet switches for single-cable deployment. The cameras support ONVIF protocol for compatibility with third-party NVR systems. Indoor, outdoor, and PTZ models are available.
Network adapters and USB hubs. TRENDnet produces USB network adapters, powerline adapters, and USB hubs for connectivity expansion. These products complement the core routing and switching lineup.
Green networking. TRENDnet GREENnet technology reduces power consumption on switches and routers by adjusting power based on cable length and link status. Ports connected to shorter cables or inactive devices draw less energy.
Troubleshooting TRENDnet Router Login
-
Cannot reach 192.168.10.1 in a browser. Verify your device is connected to the TRENDnet network and has an IP address in the 192.168.10.x range. If you are accustomed to typing 192.168.1.1, note that TRENDnet uses a different subnet. Check your default gateway by running
ipconfigon Windows orip routeon Linux. -
Admin password rejected with admin/admin. The password was changed from factory defaults. Perform a factory reset on the router by holding the reset button for 15 seconds. This restores all defaults including the 192.168.10.1 gateway and admin/admin credentials.
-
Internet connected but pages do not load. Check the DNS settings under Network > Internet in the admin panel. Try setting manual DNS servers (such as 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) instead of automatic DNS from the ISP. Verify the connection status shows an active IP address assignment.
-
Wireless clients cannot connect despite correct password. Confirm the security mode matches on both the router and the client device. Older devices may not support WPA3. Switch to WPA2-PSK with AES if compatibility is an issue. Check that MAC filtering is not enabled under the access control settings.
-
Firmware update fails or does not complete. Download the firmware file from the TRENDnet support website for your specific model number. Use an Ethernet connection (not Wi-Fi) when uploading firmware through the admin panel. Do not power off the router during the update. If the device becomes unresponsive, hold the reset button for 30 seconds and attempt the update again.
TRENDnet Router FAQ
What is the default IP address for TRENDnet routers?
TRENDnet routers use 192.168.10.1 as the default gateway IP address. This is uncommon among router brands, which typically use 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1. The 192.168.10.x subnet helps avoid IP conflicts when the TRENDnet router is connected behind another gateway device.
What is the default TRENDnet router password?
The factory default is admin for both the username and password on all TRENDnet routers. This applies to the entire TEW series. Some newer models prompt you to change the default password on first login.
How do I reset a TRENDnet router to factory settings?
Press and hold the reset button on the back of the router for 10-15 seconds while powered on. The LEDs blink and the device reboots. This restores 192.168.10.1 as the gateway and admin/admin as the credentials. All wireless, firewall, and port forwarding settings are erased.
Does TRENDnet still make routers?
Yes. TRENDnet continues to produce networking equipment including wireless routers, PoE switches, IP cameras, and network adapters. The TEW series remains the primary product line for wireless routers, with models supporting WiFi 5 and WiFi 6 standards.
Why does my TRENDnet router use 192.168.10.1?
TRENDnet chose the 192.168.10.x subnet to avoid conflicting with ISP-provided gateways that commonly use 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1. This makes it easier to connect a TRENDnet router behind another device without encountering double NAT issues from overlapping subnets.
Can I use TRENDnet PoE switches with non-TRENDnet devices?
Yes. TRENDnet PoE switches use the standard 802.3af and 802.3at protocols, which work with any PoE-compatible device from any manufacturer. This includes IP cameras, VoIP phones, and wireless access points from other brands.
