TM Unifi Router Login
192.168.1.254
TM Unifi is Malaysia's largest fibre broadband provider. Most Unifi routers use 192.168.1.254 as the default gateway, though newer Combo Box models use 192.168.0.1. This guide covers all Unifi-supplied routers from the D-Link AX3000 WiFi 6 to the WiFi 7 gateway on 1Gbps+ plans.
TM Unifi, operated by Telekom Malaysia Berhad, is Malaysia’s largest fibre broadband provider. It delivers internet, IPTV, and voice services over a nationwide fibre-to-the-home network. For locations without fibre coverage, TM also offers Unifi Air 5G, a wireless broadband service using ZTE 5G routers.
How to Login to Your TM Unifi Router
To log in to your router, open any browser on a device connected to your network (wired or Wi-Fi, both work). Type the IP address 192.168.1.254 in the address bar and press Enter.
You will see a login page with the provider’s or router manufacturer logo. Enter admin as both the username and password. If that does not work, try Tmadmin@unifi since the provider started using this on some newer gateways.
Got a newer TP-Link Archer VR1600v? That one uses 192.168.0.1 instead. Same credentials, different IP. The credentials on the router label always include the correct gateway address.
If the login page does not load at all, check that you are connected to the service’s network (not your phone’s mobile data). Try a LAN cable plugged into one of the router’s LAN ports to rule out Wi-Fi issues.

The provider now uses a “Combo Box” design on 100Mbps+ plans. The Combo Box integrates the ONT (fibre terminal) and router into a single unit, replacing the previous two-device setup. The D-Link AX3000 is the most common current model. The WiFi 7 Combo Box ships with 1Gbps (RM249/month) and 2Gbps (RM319/month) plans.
Eligible subscribers on older plans can receive a free WiFi 6 router upgrade. The provider sends invitations via Unifi Care WhatsApp. You have 30 days to accept. Mesh add-on units (D-Link AX3000 Mesh, AX1800 Mesh, or FibreHome Mesh) are available for extended coverage. Call 1-800-88-5059 for details.
Unifi FTTR (Fibre-To-The-Room)
FTTR is the provider’s premium broadband option, available since March 2025. Instead of using WiFi to connect mesh nodes, FTTR runs transparent fibre optic cables through your home to connect each satellite hub directly to the main hub. This eliminates WiFi backhaul bottlenecks and delivers consistent gigabit speeds in every room.
The FTTR plan costs RM249/month for 1Gbps (same as the standard 1Gbps plan) with a 24-month contract. The equipment is different from the standard Combo Box setup.
FTTR equipment:
| Device | Model | Function | Default IP | Warranty |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Main Hub | Huawei OptiXstar HG8141XR-10 | WiFi 6 Optical Router (GPON) | 192.168.1.254 | Lifetime |
| Satellite Hub | Huawei OptiXstar K662d | WiFi 6 Mesh (fibre upstream) | 192.168.1.x | Lifetime |
| Splitter | Huawei ATB2119-S-4-XC-UPC | Splits fibre to 4 satellites | N/A | 1 year |
| Terminal Box | Huawei ATB3116-T-2-XC-UPC | Wall-mount fibre junction | N/A | 1 year |
The main hub (HG8141XR-10) supports WiFi 6 with 2x2 MIMO and 160 MHz bandwidth. It connects to the provider’s GPON network through the external fibre line and distributes internal fibre to satellite hubs. Each satellite hub (K662d) receives its backhaul connection over fibre instead of WiFi, which means no signal degradation through walls.
You can add up to 7 satellite hubs (8 total including the main hub). Each additional satellite costs RM850 one-time or RM40/month over 24 months. One splitter supports 4 satellites. A fifth satellite requires an additional splitter (RM120).
Installation uses transparent fibre cables that run along walls without drilling or hacking. The provider offers professional installation within 24 hours of booking. The admin panel on the HG8141XR-10 is accessible at 192.168.1.254 using the credentials on the device label.
Changing Your Unifi Wi-Fi Password and SSID
Its routers all let you change the Wi-Fi password from the admin panel. This walkthrough uses the Huawei HG8145V5 since it is the most common current model. Steps are similar on other routers.
Log in at 192.168.1.254 with your admin credentials. Go to WLAN in the top menu bar. You will see your 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks listed separately.
Click on SSID Configuration for the network you want to change. The SSID Name field is your Wi-Fi network name, so change it to whatever you want. The WPA PreSharedKey field is your Wi-Fi password.
Set your password to at least 12 characters. Mix letters, numbers, and symbols. Avoid your phone number or unit number because those are the first things people try.
Click Apply at the bottom. Every connected device will drop off and need to reconnect with the new password. Do the same for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands if you want the same password on both.

Using Your Own Router with TM Unifi
The service lets you replace or bypass the supplied router if you prefer your own gear. The provider’s routers are fine for basic use, but if you want better range, more features, or proper QoS, bringing your own makes a big difference.
The key settings you need:
- VLAN ID: 500 (this is for internet traffic)
- VLAN ID: 600 (this is for Unifi TV/IPTV, if you have it)
- Connection type: PPPoE
- PPPoE username: Your account number or phone number (format varies, so check your bill or call the provider at 100)
- PPPoE password: Provided during installation
Option 1: Bridge mode (recommended). Keep the supplied router connected to the fibre ONT. Log in, disable DHCP, disable Wi-Fi, and set it to bridge mode. Run an Ethernet cable from its LAN port to your own router’s WAN port. Configure PPPoE on your router with VLAN 500 tagging.
Option 2: Full replacement. Remove the supplied router entirely. Connect your router’s WAN port directly to the ONT’s LAN port. You will need a router that supports 802.1Q VLAN tagging. Set WAN to PPPoE, VLAN 500, enter your credentials. Popular choices: Asus RT-AX86U, TP-Link Archer AX73, Ubiquiti UniFi Dream Machine.
If you have HyppTV (IPTV), you need to handle VLAN 600 separately. Most third-party routers support IPTV passthrough or multiple VLANs, so check your router’s manual.
Troubleshooting TM Unifi Router Issues
Here are the most common router problems and how to fix them.
-
Login page does not load. Make sure you are typing the IP address in the address bar, not the search bar. Some browsers auto-search instead of navigating. Try typing http://192.168.1.254 with the full prefix. If still nothing, your router might use 192.168.0.1, so check the label on your device.
-
Password rejected. The installation technician may have changed it during setup. Try Tmadmin@unifi or the router’s serial number. If nothing works, reset the router to factory defaults. You will need to reconfigure your PPPoE settings after reset, so have your credentials ready.
-
Slow Wi-Fi speeds. Run a speed test at speedtest.net using a wired connection first. If wired speed matches your plan, the problem is Wi-Fi, not the service. Move your router to a central location, away from walls and metal objects. The 5GHz band is faster but shorter range, so use 2.4GHz for distant rooms.
-
Internet connected but no browsing. Check the portal at unifi.com.my. You might have an outstanding bill. The provider blocks browsing but keeps the connection alive when payment is overdue. You will see a payment page when you try to browse.
-
Red LOS light on ONT. This means the fibre line is down. Check if the fibre cable behind the ONT is bent or disconnected. If the cable looks fine, report the fault by calling 100. It is likely a line issue that needs a technician.
