TIME Router Login

192.168.1.1

Malaysia Huawei, TP-Link

TIME Fibre is known for fast, affordable fibre broadband in Malaysian condos and apartments. TIME routers typically use 192.168.1.1 as the default gateway. This guide covers all TIME-supplied router models including TP-Link and Ruijie units, plus how to use your own router.

How to Login to Your TIME Fibre Router

TIME Fibre routers from TIME dotCom Berhad use 192.168.1.1 as the default gateway IP address. Connect to your TIME Wi-Fi network or plug a LAN cable into one of the router’s LAN ports, then open any browser and type that IP address in the address bar.

The login page will show the router manufacturer’s branding: TP-Link blue interface or Ruijie’s green/white design. Enter admin for both username and password.

If the page doesn’t load, double-check you’re on the TIME network. TIME’s wall outlet connects directly to the router in most condo setups, so there’s no separate ONT box like TM Unifi or Maxis. The ethernet cable from the wall goes straight into the router’s WAN port.

TIME Fibre Router Models

TIME keeps it simple with their router lineup:

Router ModelDefault IPUsernamePasswordWi-Fi Standard
TP-Link Archer C80192.168.1.1adminadminWi-Fi 5 (AC1900)
TP-Link Archer AX23192.168.1.1adminadminWi-Fi 6 (AX1800)

Ruijie Reyee RG-E5192.168.1.1adminSee labelWi-Fi 6 (AX3000)

TIME Fibre currently ships the TP-Link Archer AX23 and Ruijie RG-E5 as WiFi 6 options. Both are solid mid-range routers that handle the 500Mbps and 1Gbps plans without bottlenecking, at least for small to medium condos.

For large units or multiple rooms, TIME’s bundled routers may not cut it. The single-unit design means coverage drops through walls. That’s where your own mesh system comes in.

Changing Your TIME Wi-Fi Password and SSID

TIME Fibre subscribers can change their Wi-Fi password through the router admin panel. On the TP-Link Archer AX23 (most common current model):

Log in at 192.168.1.1. Click Wireless in the top navigation. You’ll see separate sections for 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands.

Change the Network Name (SSID) to whatever you want. Under Security, make sure WPA2-Personal or WPA3 is selected. Enter your new password in the Password field. Click Save.

Both bands update separately, so remember to change both if you want matching credentials. Some people set different names (e.g., “MyWiFi” and “MyWiFi-5G”) to manually pick which band to use. Others use the same SSID for both and let devices choose automatically.

For the full process, check our Wi-Fi password change guide.

Using Your Own Router with TIME Fibre

TIME Fibre is the easiest ISP in Malaysia for using your own router. No PPPoE, no VLAN tagging, no special credentials. Pure DHCP.

Steps:

  1. Unplug the TIME-supplied router from the wall ethernet port.
  2. Connect your own router’s WAN port to the same wall ethernet port.
  3. Set your router’s WAN type to DHCP (Dynamic IP / Automatic).
  4. Power on your router and wait 1-2 minutes.
  5. Done. You should have internet.

Popular choices among TIME users: Asus RT-AX86U Pro for single-unit power, TP-Link Deco X55 for mesh coverage, or Ubiquiti UniFi Dream Router for networking enthusiasts.

If you’re on the 1Gbps plan, make sure your router has a Gigabit WAN port. Older routers with 100Mbps WAN/LAN ports will bottleneck your connection to 100Mbps regardless of your plan speed.

One thing to note: TIME supplies a wall outlet in most condos, not a separate ONT. If your condo has an ONT (small box with a fibre cable), connect your router to the ONT’s LAN port instead.

Troubleshooting TIME Fibre Issues

Here are the most common TIME Fibre router problems and how to fix them.

  1. Login page does not load. If you replaced TIME’s router with your own, the admin IP address depends on your router’s default. It might be 192.168.0.1 or something else. Check your router brand’s default gateway. If using the TIME router, type http://192.168.1.1 with the full prefix.

  2. Connected but no internet. Power cycle the wall outlet or ONT. Unplug the ethernet cable from the wall port, wait 30 seconds, plug it back in. TIME’s system sometimes needs a MAC address refresh when you swap routers. Restarting usually fixes it.

  3. Slow Wi-Fi speeds. TIME delivers close to advertised speeds on wired connections. If your wired speed test shows less than 80% of your plan speed, contact TIME support at 1800-18-1818. If wired is fine but Wi-Fi is slow, that is a router or interference issue. Use the 5GHz band, move the router to a central spot, or upgrade to a mesh system.

  4. Building-wide outage. TIME serves entire condos from a single connection point. If your whole building is down, check the TIME app for maintenance notices or outage reports. Ask your condo management group chat. If neighbours are also affected, it is a building-level issue and TIME is likely already aware.

  5. Account and billing help. Manage your account, check bills, and report issues through the TIME self-care portal at my.time.com.my or the TIME app. Their live chat support is responsive and more helpful than phone support for technical issues.

TIME Router FAQ

What is the default IP for TIME Fibre router?

TIME Fibre routers use 192.168.1.1 as the default gateway. Open a browser and go to this address while connected to your TIME network to access the admin panel.

What is the default password for TIME router?

The default username and password are both admin on most TIME-supplied routers. Some Ruijie models use a unique password printed on the router label. If admin does not work, check the sticker on the bottom of your device.

Can I use my own router with TIME Fibre?

Yes, and TIME makes it easy. TIME uses DHCP, so just plug your router's WAN port into the TIME wall outlet or ONT. No PPPoE credentials or VLAN tagging needed. Set your router WAN to DHCP/Automatic and it should connect within a minute.

Why is TIME only available in condos?

TIME builds its own fibre network and focuses on high-density residential buildings. They negotiate directly with building management for condo-wide installations. Landed house coverage is expanding but still limited to selected areas in KL, PJ, and Penang.

How do I check my TIME Fibre speed?

Use speedtest.net or fast.com with a wired LAN connection for accurate results. Wi-Fi will almost always show lower speeds than your plan. On a 1Gbps TIME plan, expect 800-950Mbps wired and 300-500Mbps on Wi-Fi depending on your router capabilities.
