StarHub Router Login
192.168.1.254
StarHub is one of Singapore's three major broadband providers. Most StarHub routers use 192.168.1.1 as the default gateway. This guide covers login steps, default passwords, and configuration for StarHub-supplied routers on cable and fibre plans.
How to Login to Your StarHub Router
StarHub, operated by StarHub Ltd, is one of Singapore’s three major broadband providers alongside Singtel and M1. To access the StarHub router admin panel, connect to your StarHub network through Wi-Fi or a LAN cable. Open a browser and type the IP address 192.168.1.1 into the address bar.
A login page will appear. Enter admin as the username and admin as the password. Some newer StarHub routers have a unique password printed on the device label, so check the sticker on the bottom if the default does not work.
StarHub provides both cable and fibre broadband. Cable customers receive a cable modem and router, while fibre customers get an ONT and router. The admin interface at 192.168.1.1 works the same regardless of connection type.
If the login page does not load, confirm you are on the StarHub network and not using mobile data.
StarHub Router Models and Default Settings
StarHub has rotated through several router models depending on your plan type and when you subscribed. Here are the common models:
| Router Model | Default IP | Username | Password | Service Type |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Arris NVG558 | 192.168.1.1 | admin | admin | Cable broadband |
| Nokia G-240W-A | 192.168.1.1 | admin | admin | Fibre |
| Linksys EA8100 | 192.168.1.1 | admin | admin | Smart WiFi Pro plans |
| Nokia WiFi Beacon 1 | 192.168.1.1 | App-managed | App-managed | Mesh add-on |
| Arris SBG7600AC | 192.168.1.1 | admin | On label | Cable + router combo |
The Linksys EA8100 is supplied on Smart WiFi Pro plans and covers most Singapore apartments without issues. The Nokia G-240W-A serves as a combined ONT and router for fibre customers. StarHub’s parent company also offers Nokia WiFi Beacon mesh nodes for larger homes.
Changing Your StarHub Wi-Fi Password
StarHub subscribers can change their Wi-Fi password through the router admin interface. This walkthrough uses the Linksys EA8100 since it is StarHub’s most featured current router.
Log in at 192.168.1.1 with your admin credentials. On the Linksys interface, click Wi-Fi Settings in the dashboard. You will see your 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks listed.
Click on the network you want to modify. Change the Wi-Fi Password field to your preferred password. Use at least 12 characters, mixing letters, numbers, and symbols. Do not reuse your StarHub account password.
Click Apply. Both bands will briefly restart. Every connected device will need to rejoin with the new password. Repeat for the other band if you keep separate passwords.
On the Nokia G-240W-A, the path is Network > WLAN > SSID Configuration. The password field is labeled WPA PreSharedKey.

Using Your Own Router with StarHub
StarHub makes it relatively simple to bring your own router on both cable and fibre connections.
StarHub Fibre: The ONT converts the fibre signal to Ethernet. Disconnect the StarHub router from the ONT. Plug your own router’s WAN port into the ONT’s LAN port 1. Set the WAN connection type to DHCP. Restart the ONT, wait two minutes, then power on your router. It should connect automatically.
StarHub Cable: The cable modem handles the signal conversion. Connect your router’s WAN port to the cable modem’s LAN port. Set WAN to DHCP. Restart the cable modem first, then your router.
No PPPoE, no VLAN tagging, no credentials to enter on either connection type. Popular choices for StarHub customers include the Asus RT-AX86U and TP-Link Deco mesh systems.
Troubleshooting StarHub Router Issues
Here are the most common StarHub router problems and how to fix them.
-
Login page does not load. Confirm you are connected to the StarHub network. Type http://192.168.1.1 in the address bar, not the search bar. Try clearing your browser cache or using a different browser. Connect via LAN cable for the most reliable access. If the IP still does not work, reset the router to factory defaults.
-
Password rejected. StarHub technicians may set a custom password during installation. Check the router label for a printed password. Try common defaults like “password” or an empty field. A factory reset (hold the reset button 10 to 15 seconds) restores default credentials.
-
Connected but no internet. Restart in order: ONT or cable modem first, wait two minutes, then the router. Cable modems need time to re-establish the connection after a power outage.
-
Slow Wi-Fi speeds. Cable speeds dip during peak hours (7 PM to 11 PM) due to shared bandwidth. Test wired first. If wired speeds are also slow off-peak, call StarHub at 1633.
-
Wi-Fi dead zones in larger flats. Singapore HDB flats with concrete walls block Wi-Fi signals between rooms. Use 2.4 GHz for distant rooms or add StarHub’s Nokia Beacon mesh nodes. Placing the router in a central corridor helps more than any settings change.
