Orange Router Login
192.168.1.1
Orange broadband uses 192.168.1.1 as the default gateway IP address on Livebox routers. This guide covers login steps, default passwords, and configuration for the Orange Livebox 5 and Livebox 6 across France, Spain, Poland, Romania, and other European markets.
How to Login to Your Orange Livebox
Orange S.A., headquartered in Paris, is the largest broadband provider in France and operates networks across Spain, Poland, Romania, and Belgium. To access your Orange Livebox admin panel, connect to your Orange network via Wi-Fi or a LAN cable. Open a browser and type the IP address 192.168.1.1 in the address bar. You can also type livebox or livebox.home as alternative URLs.
The Livebox login page will appear with the Orange logo. The admin password on current models is the first 8 characters of the Wi-Fi security key printed on the bottom label of the Livebox. On older units, try admin as both username and password.
If the login page does not load, verify that you are connected to the Orange network and not mobile data. Type http://192.168.1.1 with the full prefix to prevent browser search redirects. A LAN cable to one of the Livebox’s LAN ports is more reliable than Wi-Fi for admin access.
Orange Livebox Models and Default Settings
Orange has shipped several Livebox generations. The hardware is manufactured by Sagemcom and Huawei, running Orange custom firmware.

The Livebox 6 is the current flagship in France with a 2.5 Gbps WAN port for multi-gigabit FTTH plans. The Livebox 5 remains standard for most existing subscribers. In Spain, Orange ships the Livebox Next on premium plans. All models use the same default IP address.
Changing Your Orange Wi-Fi Password and Network Name
Orange broadband subscribers can update Wi-Fi credentials directly from the Livebox admin panel. Log in at 192.168.1.1 using the admin password from your Livebox label.
Click on Wi-Fi or Mon WiFi in the main menu. You will see settings for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands.
Change the Network Name (SSID) to your preferred name. Update the Security Key or Cle de securite field. Use at least 12 characters with letters, numbers, and symbols.
Click Save or Enregistrer. All connected devices will drop off the network. Reconnect each device with the new password. For a general walkthrough, see the Wi-Fi password change guide.
Using Your Own Router with Orange Broadband
Orange broadband supports third-party routers under EU router freedom regulations. The setup varies by country and connection type.
France (FTTH): Orange France uses DHCP on fibre connections. The authentication is handled at the ONT level. Connect your own router’s WAN port to the Orange ONT’s LAN port 1 and set the WAN connection type to DHCP. For Orange TV, configure VLAN 840 (internet) and VLAN 838 (TV). VoIP requires SIP configuration with Orange-provided credentials.
France (DSL): Connect your router to the DSL filter or directly to the phone line. Set the WAN type to PPPoE. Your PPPoE credentials are in your Orange customer area at espace-client.orange.fr.
Spain: Orange Spain uses DHCP on FTTH. Connect to the ONT and set WAN to DHCP. VLAN configuration may be needed depending on your region.
Poland and Romania: Check with Orange support for specific PPPoE or DHCP settings. Connection details vary by region.
Popular replacements include the Fritz!Box 7590 and Asus RT-AX86U.
Troubleshooting Orange Livebox Issues
Here are the most common Orange router problems and how to fix them.
-
Login page does not load. Confirm your device is on the Orange network, not mobile data. Try a LAN cable into one of the Livebox’s LAN ports. Type http://livebox.home as an alternative. If the default IP was changed, reset the router to restore factory settings. Check that no other router using 192.168.0.1 is conflicting.
-
Password rejected. On Livebox 5 and 6, the admin password is the first 8 characters of the Wi-Fi key on the bottom label. On older models, try admin/admin. A factory reset restores the original label credentials.
-
Connected but no internet (red internet indicator). The Livebox cannot reach the Orange network. For FTTH, check the ONT for a green PON light. If the ONT light is red or off, the fibre line has a fault. For DSL, verify the phone cable is plugged in and the DSL sync light is green. Wait 5 minutes after powering on. If the red light remains, check the Orange service status page or call 3900 (France).
-
Slow Wi-Fi speeds. Run a speed test over a LAN cable first. If wired speed matches your plan, the problem is Wi-Fi. Move the Livebox away from thick walls and metal furniture. Use the 5GHz band for nearby devices. If wired speed is also low, restart the ONT and Livebox. Contact Orange support if speeds remain below your plan.
-
TV decoder not connecting. Orange TV requires specific VLAN tagging through the Livebox. If you replaced the Livebox with your own router, the TV decoder needs VLAN 838 (France) passed through. Check your router’s IPTV or multicast configuration page.
