First Media Router Login
192.168.0.1
First Media is a cable broadband provider in the Jakarta metropolitan area. Most First Media routers use 192.168.0.1 as the default gateway with admin as the username and password as the default password. This guide covers login steps and configuration for First Media cable modems.
First Media is a cable broadband and television provider serving the Jabodetabek region (Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi). The service is operated by PT Link Net Tbk, which built a Hybrid Fibre Coaxial (HFC) network using DOCSIS technology. Unlike fibre ISPs such as IndiHome, the provider delivers internet and TV through coaxial cable infrastructure. First Media bundles broadband with cable TV and its HomeX streaming platform.
How to Login to Your First Media Router
To access the First Media cable modem admin panel, connect to your home network through Wi-Fi or a LAN cable plugged into the device. Open a browser and type the IP address 192.168.0.1 in the address bar.
The login page will appear. Enter admin as the username and password as the password. This is the factory default on most Cisco and Arris cable modems deployed by the provider. On some Arris models, try admin as both the username and password instead.
Note that 192.168.0.1 is different from the 192.168.1.1 used by most fibre ISPs in Indonesia. Make sure you are typing the correct IP address for your cable modem.
If the page does not load, verify that you are on the home network and not mobile data. A LAN cable connection is more reliable than Wi-Fi for admin access.
Router Models and Default Settings
The provider uses cable modem and modem-router combo devices from Cisco and Arris. The model depends on your plan speed and installation date. Below are the 5 most common devices.
| Router Model | Default IP | Username | Password | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Arris TG1672G | 192.168.0.1 | admin | password | Most common combo unit |
| Arris DG1670A | 192.168.0.1 | admin | password | Older installations |
| Cisco DPC3925 | 192.168.0.1 | admin | password | Legacy model |
| Arris TG2482A | 192.168.0.1 | admin | password | Newer DOCSIS 3.1 model |
| Cisco DPC3848V | 192.168.0.1 | admin | password | Selected premium plans |
The Arris TG1672G is the standard modem-router combo for most subscriptions. It combines cable modem, router, and Wi-Fi in one device, supporting DOCSIS 3.0 with channel bonding for speeds up to 300 Mbps.
For credentials across other brands, check the default router passwords guide on this site.
Changing Your Wi-Fi Password
Subscribers should change the Wi-Fi password after installation. The default credentials printed on the device label are visible to anyone in proximity. Below are the steps for the Arris TG1672G, the most widely deployed model.
Log in at 192.168.0.1 with your admin credentials. Go to Wireless or Wi-Fi in the menu. Select the Primary Network tab.
Change the Network Name (SSID) to your preferred name. In the Network Password or WPA Passphrase field, type your new password. Choose WPA2-PSK as the security mode for the best balance of compatibility and security. Use at least 12 characters.
Click Save or Apply. Every connected device will disconnect and must rejoin using the new credentials. If the modem broadcasts separate 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks, update both.

Using Your Own Router
The cable modem handles the DOCSIS connection, and you can attach your own Wi-Fi router behind it for better performance.
Option 1: Keep the combo device. Plug your router’s WAN port into a LAN port on the modem-router. Set your router’s WAN type to DHCP. This creates a double NAT, which is acceptable for browsing and streaming. Disable Wi-Fi on the combo device by logging into 192.168.0.1 and turning off the wireless radio.
Option 2: Bridge mode (recommended). Call the provider at 021-25596000 and request bridge mode activation. In bridge mode, the modem passes the public IP address directly to your router. Connect your router’s WAN port to the modem’s LAN port 1 and set WAN to DHCP. Bridge mode eliminates double NAT issues with gaming and VPN.
Since the service uses coaxial cable for the WAN connection and Ethernet for the LAN side, you cannot replace the cable modem itself.
Troubleshooting Router Issues
-
Login page does not load. Verify you are on the home network, not mobile data. Type http://192.168.0.1 with the full prefix. Ensure you are not typing 192.168.1.1. Connect via LAN cable. If the issue persists, reset the router by holding the reset button for 15 seconds.
-
Password rejected. The default is admin / password on most models. Try admin / admin as a fallback. A factory reset restores defaults if the installer changed the credentials.
-
Connected but no internet. Power cycle the modem by unplugging for 30 seconds. Check that the coaxial cable is firmly connected at the wall outlet and modem. The DS and US lights should be solid. If they are flashing, the modem is syncing. Wait 3 to 5 minutes.
-
Slow speeds during evening hours. HFC cable networks share bandwidth among subscribers in the same node. Peak congestion typically occurs between 7 PM and 11 PM. Test at off-peak times for comparison. Report consistent issues to the provider at 021-25596000.
-
Wi-Fi does not reach all rooms. Modem-router combos often have limited wireless range. Position the device centrally. For the large floor areas common in Jabodetabek townhouses, adding a dedicated router or mesh system behind the cable modem improves coverage.
