Most routers supplied by the provider use 192.168.1.1 as the default gateway IP address, with Huawei and ZTE ONT hardware across the subscriber base.

How to Login to Your Converge ICT Router

To access the Converge ICT router admin panel, connect to your network through Wi-Fi or a LAN cable. Open a browser and type the IP address 192.168.1.1 in the address bar. The login page will appear after a few seconds.

Enter admin as the username and admin as the password. Some newer Huawei units have a unique password printed on the router label. Check the sticker on the bottom of your device if the default does not work.

The Converge app provides account management and speed testing. Full router configuration including port forwarding, DHCP settings, and wireless channels requires the web admin panel at 192.168.1.1.

If the login page does not load, make sure you are connected to the Converge network and not mobile data. Type http://192.168.1.1 with the prefix for reliable access.

The Huawei HG8145V5 dominates the subscriber base and functions as a combined ONT and router with dual-band Wi-Fi. ZTE F670L units with WiFi 6 have been appearing on higher-speed FiberX plans. Both models are shared with PLDT and other Filipino ISPs.

Changing Your Converge ICT Wi-Fi Password

FiberX subscribers should change the default Wi-Fi password promptly after installation. The default credentials are widely known in the Philippines. Here is the process for the Huawei HG8145V5.

Log in at 192.168.1.1 with your admin credentials. Click on WLAN in the top menu. The 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks will appear under SSID Configuration.

Select the SSID to modify. Change the SSID Name from the default (usually CONVERGE followed by characters) to your preferred name. In the WPA PreSharedKey field, type your new password. Use at least 12 characters. Avoid your phone number or house number.

Click Apply. All connected devices will disconnect and need to rejoin. Repeat for both frequency bands.

Using Your Own Router with Converge ICT

The service supports third-party routers. The supplied ONT handles fibre authentication and provides Ethernet output, making the setup straightforward.

Steps to connect your own router:

1. Log in to the ONT at 192.168.1.1 and disable the built-in Wi-Fi to reduce interference.
2. Connect your router’s WAN port to the ONT’s LAN port 1 using an Ethernet cable.
3. Set your router’s WAN connection type to DHCP.
4. If your router also defaults to the 192.168.1.x subnet, change its LAN IP address to a different range (such as 192.168.0.x) to avoid conflicts.
5. Restart both devices and verify connectivity.

No PPPoE credentials or VLAN tagging are required on standard FiberX residential plans. The ONT authenticates the connection automatically.

Popular routers among Filipino broadband subscribers include the TP-Link Archer AX73 and Asus RT-AX86U. Mesh systems are helpful in larger Filipino homes where concrete walls reduce Wi-Fi signal.

Troubleshooting Converge ICT Router Issues

Here are the most common router problems and how to fix them.

1. Login page does not load. Confirm you are on the Converge network, not mobile data. Type http://192.168.1.1 with the prefix. Use a LAN cable instead of Wi-Fi. Reset the router if the page does not appear after multiple attempts.

2. Password rejected. Check the router label for a unique password. Technicians may set a custom password during installation. A factory reset (hold the reset button for 15 seconds) restores defaults.

3. Connected but no internet. Power cycle the ONT by unplugging it for 30 seconds, then restart the router. If the internet does not return, report through the Converge app or call 171.

4. Slow Wi-Fi speeds. Test with a wired connection first. The service delivers full speed over Ethernet. If Wi-Fi is the bottleneck, switch to the 5 GHz band for nearby devices. Concrete walls common in Philippine homes significantly reduce signal. Consider a mesh system or adding your own router.

5. Red LOS light on the ONT. A red LOS light means fibre signal loss. Check the fibre cable from the wall outlet to the device for bends or damage. Do not bend fibre cables. Contact Converge at 171 if the cable appears intact.
