Malaysia Huawei, ZTE

Allo is a regional fibre broadband provider in Malaysia that builds and operates its own fibre infrastructure. Allo routers use 192.168.1.1 as the default gateway. This guide covers login steps, default passwords, and configuration for Huawei and ZTE ONT devices supplied with Allo plans.

Allo is a regional fibre broadband provider operated by Allo Technology Sdn Bhd. The company builds and maintains its own fibre-to-the-home infrastructure across Perak, Johor, and Melaka, offering plans from 50Mbps up to 1Gbps. Unlike national providers that rely on shared last-mile networks, the service owns every segment of its fibre lines from the exchange to the subscriber premises.

How to Login to Your Allo Router

Allo-supplied routers and ONTs use 192.168.1.1 as the default gateway IP address. Connect to the Wi-Fi network or plug a LAN cable into one of the ONT’s LAN ports. Open any browser and type that IP address into the address bar.

Enter admin for both the username and password fields. On some Huawei ONTs, the password is a unique string printed on the device label rather than a generic default. If admin does not work, flip the device over and check the sticker.

The admin panel displays connection status, connected devices, Wi-Fi settings, and network diagnostics. The interface design depends on the ONT manufacturer: Huawei shows a white and blue layout, while ZTE uses a green and white design.

Allo Router Models

The provider supplies Huawei and ZTE ONT devices depending on your area and installation date.

ZTE F6600P192.168.1.1adminadminWi-Fi 6 (AX)

The Huawei HG8145V5 is the most commonly deployed unit across Perak installations. Newer subscribers in Johor and Melaka may receive the ZTE F6600P, which supports Wi-Fi 6 and handles more simultaneous connections. Both device families have 4 LAN ports and 1 optical port on the back panel.

Changing Your Allo Wi-Fi Password

Subscribers can update their Wi-Fi credentials through the ONT admin panel. Log in at 192.168.1.1 using your admin credentials.

On Huawei devices, go to WLAN in the top menu. Select the SSID you want to modify (2.4GHz or 5GHz). Change the SSID Name field to your preferred network name. Enter a new password in the WPA PreSharedKey field. Click Apply.

On ZTE devices, go to Network > WLAN > SSID Settings. Update the network name and password for each band separately. Click Submit.

Use WPA2 or WPA3 encryption with a password of at least 12 characters. Avoid using your phone number or house address. For detailed steps, refer to the Wi-Fi password change guide.

Using Your Own Router with Allo

The service uses DHCP for IP assignment, which makes connecting your own router straightforward. No PPPoE credentials, no VLAN tagging, and no calls to customer support are needed. This setup is simpler than what TM Unifi requires.

  1. Disconnect the Wi-Fi ONT from its power source.
  2. Connect your own router’s WAN port to LAN port 1 on the ONT using an ethernet cable.
  3. Set your router’s WAN connection type to DHCP (Dynamic IP or Automatic).
  4. Power on the ONT first, wait 2 minutes, then power on your router.
  5. Your router should receive an IP address and connect to the internet automatically.

If you prefer to disable the Wi-Fi on the ONT to avoid signal interference, log in at 192.168.1.1 and turn off the wireless radios. This lets the ONT handle only the fibre connection while your own router manages Wi-Fi and local networking.

Make sure your router has gigabit WAN and LAN ports if you are on the 500Mbps or 1Gbps plan. A router with only 100Mbps ports will cap your speeds at that limit regardless of your subscription.

Troubleshooting Allo Connection Issues

  1. Login page does not load. Confirm you are connected to the provider’s network and not mobile data. Type http://192.168.1.1 with the full prefix. If you replaced the ONT’s Wi-Fi with your own router, the admin IP address belongs to the ONT, not your router. Connect a cable directly to the ONT’s LAN port to access it.

  2. Default password rejected. Installation technicians sometimes change the admin password during setup. Check for any sticker or card left by the technician with updated credentials. If none exists, reset the device using the pinhole button on the back for 10 to 15 seconds.

  3. Connected but no internet. Power cycle the ONT by unplugging it for 30 seconds, then plugging it back in. Wait 3 minutes for the optical link to re-establish. If the PON or LOS light on the ONT is red or blinking, the fibre line may be damaged. Contact customer support at 1300-22-2556.

  4. Slow speeds on Wi-Fi. Test with a wired LAN connection first. If wired speeds match your plan, the issue is Wi-Fi related. Move the ONT to a central location, use the 5GHz band for nearby devices, and keep the ONT away from walls and metal objects. For larger homes, add a mesh system.

  5. Service outage in your area. Check the provider’s Facebook page or app for maintenance announcements. Regional outages do occur during infrastructure upgrades. If neighbours on the same network are also affected, the issue is at the exchange level and requires waiting for the operations team to resolve it.

Allo Router FAQ

What is the default IP address for Allo router?

Allo routers use 192.168.1.1 as the default gateway. Open a browser and type this address while connected to your Allo Wi-Fi or via a LAN cable to reach the admin panel.

What is the default password for Allo router?

The default username and password are both admin on most Allo-supplied Huawei and ZTE devices. Some newer Huawei ONTs use a unique password printed on the device label. Check the sticker on the bottom if admin does not work.

Where is Allo fibre available in Malaysia?

Allo operates its own fibre network in Perak (primarily Ipoh), Johor, and Melaka. Coverage is expanding to other states, but availability remains regional. Check allo.com.my for address-level coverage.

Can I use my own router with Allo?

Yes. Allo uses DHCP, so connect your router WAN port to the Allo ONT LAN port, set the WAN type to DHCP or Automatic, and your connection should come up within a minute. No PPPoE credentials or VLAN tagging required.

How fast is Allo fibre broadband?

Allo offers plans from 50Mbps to 1Gbps. On a wired LAN connection, expect speeds close to the advertised rate. Wi-Fi speeds depend on your router model, distance, and interference. Test with a cable first for accurate results.

How do I reset my Allo router?

Press and hold the reset pinhole button on the back of the ONT for 10 to 15 seconds while power is on. The device will restart with factory default settings, including the original IP address, username, and password.
