AIS Router Login
192.168.1.1
Advanced Info Service (AIS) is Thailand's largest mobile and fibre broadband provider. Most AIS Fibre routers use 192.168.1.1 as the default gateway. This guide covers login steps, default passwords, and configuration for AIS-supplied routers.
How to Login to Your AIS Fibre Router
Advanced Info Service, commonly known as AIS, is Thailand’s largest mobile operator and fibre broadband provider. AIS is a subsidiary of Gulf Energy Development and the Intouch Holdings group. To access the AIS Fibre router admin panel, connect to your AIS network through Wi-Fi or a LAN cable. Open a browser and type the IP address 192.168.1.1 in the address bar.
The login page will appear. Enter admin as the username and admin as the password. On some AIS routers, the password is ais instead. Check the sticker on your router if neither works.
Some AIS-supplied Huawei routers use 192.168.8.1 as the default gateway instead of 192.168.1.1. If the page does not load at 192.168.1.1, try 192.168.8.1 as an alternative IP address.
AIS provides the myAIS app for account management and speed tests, but router configuration requires the web admin panel at 192.168.1.1.
AIS Fibre Router Models and Default Settings
AIS Fibre has deployed several router models across Thailand. The model depends on your plan tier, location, and installation date.
| Router Model | Default IP | Username | Password | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Huawei HG8145V5 | 192.168.1.1 | admin | admin | Most common model |
| Huawei HG8245H | 192.168.1.1 | admin | admin | Older installations |
| ZTE F670L | 192.168.1.1 | admin | admin | WiFi 6 capable |
| Nokia G-240W-F | 192.168.1.1 | admin | admin or ais | Select areas |
| Huawei EG8145V5 | 192.168.1.1 | admin | On label | Premium plans |
The Huawei HG8145V5 is the most common AIS Fibre router and appears across ISPs in Southeast Asia. It functions as a combined ONT and router with dual-band Wi-Fi. AIS’s parent company has been rolling out ZTE F670L units with WiFi 6 on higher-speed plans.
Changing Your AIS Fibre Wi-Fi Password
AIS Fibre subscribers should change the default Wi-Fi password to secure their network. The default credentials are widely known in Thailand. Here is the process for the Huawei HG8145V5, the most common AIS router.
Log in at 192.168.1.1 with your admin credentials. Click on WLAN in the top menu bar. You will see your 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks listed under SSID Configuration.
Select the SSID to modify. Change the SSID Name from the default to your preferred name. In the WPA PreSharedKey field, type your new password. Use at least 12 characters. Avoid your phone number or condo unit number.
Click Apply. All connected devices will need to rejoin. Change both frequency bands for consistency.

Using Your Own Router with AIS Fibre
AIS Fibre allows customers to use third-party routers. The AIS-supplied ONT handles fiber authentication and outputs Ethernet, making the setup straightforward.
Steps to connect your own router:
- Log in to the AIS ONT at 192.168.1.1 and disable the built-in Wi-Fi to avoid interference.
- Connect your router’s WAN port to the AIS ONT’s LAN port 1 using an Ethernet cable.
- Set your router’s WAN connection type to DHCP.
- If your router also defaults to the 192.168.1.x subnet, change its LAN IP address to a different range (like 192.168.0.x) to avoid conflicts.
- Restart both devices.
No PPPoE credentials or VLAN tagging is required on standard AIS Fibre residential plans. The ONT authenticates the connection automatically.
Popular routers among AIS customers include the TP-Link Archer AX73 and Asus RT-AX86U. For larger Thai houses, a mesh system provides better coverage across multiple floors.
Troubleshooting AIS Fibre Router Issues
Here are the most common AIS Fibre router problems and how to fix them.
-
Login page does not load. Verify you are on the AIS network, not mobile data. Type http://192.168.1.1 with the prefix. If the page does not load, try 192.168.8.1 since some Huawei models use that IP. Connect via LAN cable. Reset the router if needed.
-
Password rejected. Try ais as the password. Check the router label. AIS technicians sometimes set a custom password during installation. A factory reset (hold reset button 10 to 15 seconds) restores defaults.
-
Connected but no internet. Power cycle the ONT by unplugging it for 30 seconds, then restart the router. If the internet does not return, contact AIS at 1175.
-
Slow Wi-Fi speeds. Test over a wired LAN connection. AIS Fibre delivers full speed over Ethernet. If Wi-Fi is slow, use the 5 GHz band for nearby devices. Consider adding your own router for improved coverage.
-
Red LOS light on ONT. A red LOS light means fiber signal loss. Check the fiber cable from the wall outlet to the ONT. Do not bend fiber cables. Contact AIS at 1175 if the cable is intact.
-
Internet drops at night. Peak hour congestion can cause slowdowns. Restart the ONT during the drop to see if it recovers. If the problem persists at the same time nightly, report to AIS at 1175 for investigation.
AIS Router FAQ
What is the default IP address for AIS Fibre router?
Most AIS Fibre routers use 192.168.1.1 as the default gateway IP address. Some Huawei models may use 192.168.8.1 instead. Check the sticker on your router for the correct address.
What is the default username and password for AIS router?
The default username is admin and the default password is admin on most AIS-supplied routers. Some models use ais as the password. Newer devices may have a unique password printed on the router label.
How do I change my AIS Fibre Wi-Fi password?
Log in at 192.168.1.1 with admin credentials. Go to WLAN or Wireless settings. Change the WPA PreSharedKey field to your new password (12+ characters recommended). Click Apply. All devices will need to reconnect with the new password.
Can I use my own router with AIS Fibre?
Yes. Connect your own router's WAN port to the AIS ONT's LAN port. Set your router's WAN connection type to DHCP. No PPPoE or VLAN tagging needed on most AIS residential plans. Disable Wi-Fi on the AIS device to avoid interference.
How do I reset my AIS Fibre router?
Press and hold the reset button on the back of the router for 10 to 15 seconds while powered on. The router will restart with factory defaults. You may need to contact AIS at 1175 to restore internet settings after reset.
